Teen Killer Kidnaps The "Wrong" 13 YO Boy | The Disturbing Case of Thad Phillips

"Oh... he's still alive?"

On July 31, 1995, the Baraboo Police Department received a strange 911 call. On the line was a teenager who, despite his calm tone, described a dire situation—he was trapped in a house with both legs shattered. What officers didn’t know at the time was that the caller, 13-year-old Thad Phillips, was just hours away from death due to internal injuries.

Thad’s ordeal began when he was lured to a house under false pretenses, and held captive. Over the next two days, Thad was tortured by an unexpected person. In spite of what he endured, Thad attempted to escape twice, only to be recaptured each time. But despite his injuries, he managed to stay alive and outsmart his captor long enough to make that fateful call.

As investigators unraveled the case, they discovered chilling details. Thad wasn’t just a victim—he was the sole survivor of a teenage predator known as the “Bonebreaker.” His testimony not only brought his captor to justice but also solved the mysterious death of another boy, thought to have been an accident a year earlier. Thad’s courage turned the tables on a killer who thought his secrets would remain buried forever.

“Did You Kill Her?” *Says No, Nods Yes* | The Case of Lydia Tillman

"He used bleach to do what?"

On July 4, 2011, Fort Collins, Colorado police arrived at a horrifying scene—a house consumed by fire so intense that metal door handles had melted. Yet amidst the devastation, a chilling detail stood out: the overpowering smell of bleach. The arson was no accident; it was the signature of a notorious criminal nicknamed "The Bleach Monster", actually named Travis Forbes.

Inside the house, investigators discovered that the occupant, Lydia Tillman, had jumped from the second floor to escape the flames. Severely injured and in a coma, Lydia was not expected to survive—let alone play a pivotal role in solving the case. However, her resilience and courage would prove otherwise.

As detectives pieced together the evidence, they linked the attack on Lydia to an unsolved case from earlier that year: the murder of 19-year-old Kenia Monge in Denver. Lydia and police must work together to try and get justice for both her and Kenia, and ensure that the Bleach Monster pays for his crimes.
